He could draw on Earth's ability to heal and regenerate plants, to thrive in harsh conditions, and that was one of the reasons he was being hunted. That and the ancient sword or two he had stolen from Anghus. Dick deserved it.

Wanted Ads

Everyone loves want ads, right? We tend to get a lot of amazing plot ideas from want ads and create wonderful bonds with our characters. However, the staff has noticed that some members have been posting them and then leaving the site! This is upsetting because then a potential member is often interested in a 'dead' want ad. So we're going to ask that you please have five posts in character before posting a want ad. Why? This is to ensure you're going to be a committed member, before posting a wanted.

Also, due to the fact that a lot of people sweep up Want Ads and then never become active. You have two weeks to become active. This means completing your application, setting up a plotter as well as getting at least one post out. Again, this is simply because a lot of people swipe them, but never become active and leave the member[s] hanging.

Thanks,
Weezie , Fanu & Stoker

Diggle is ex-military. He went away for his country, he's a soldier. And his little brother stayed behind, joined the force, and protected their neighborhood. Or at least that's what he planned to do. What actually happened was he got himself mixed up in some downworlder business, and disappeared off the face of the planet.

When Diggle came back to find his brother missing, he was devastated. But there was nothing he could do about it. His brother was gone. So Diggle did the only thing he could do, he started taking jobs as security, protecting rich boys from getting themselves hurt. Until he falls in the lap of Fletcher Queen.

CANON

Little Miss Cassandra is the adopted daughter of the head of the royal guard. Spending most of her life amongst men, and boys, she developed a thick skin, a quick wit, and an even quicker sword.

As the daughter of the head of the guard, she and her father went on many of the Cresswell's sea voyages with them. And as the only two young girls on the ship, Cassandra and Princess Periwinkle seemed to gravitate towards one another. Over the years Cassandra became the princess' best friend, and only confidante in the castle. The only one that she trusted well enough to know about her adventures, and even her blossoming relationship with a cursed man named Adonis. (Which she didn't approve of at all, thank you very much).

Now that the princess has been crowned queen, Cassandra is slated to take over her father's coveted position as head of the guard. But how will she gain the respect of her men? And what does this mean for her close friendship to the queen?

Topher is Falcon's best friend. They met when they were fifteen at the LGBT club run by their high school. They hit it off over their mutual love of music and Falcon enjoyed taunting him over his indecision between which he preferred, guys or girls. Topher has been the one to support Fal in all of his career choices, to encourage him in his musical dreams. He's often the one Fal comes to to discuss his work and a song that he's been working on. When Topher had the opportunity Falcon has brought him on tour with him, enjoying having his best friend along to share the ride.

Last year things changed in Topher's life. Coming out of a club late at night, he met up with a guy who he thought was hitting on him, what he really wanted to do was eat him. The guy morphed into a wolf before his very eyes and attacked him. He would have died had a couple of Shadowhunters not appeared out of nowhere and killed the renegade wolf. Topher survived, but he had been bitten. At the next full moon he changed and since then life has never been the same. Living in Queens now, he was approached by the pack leader of that borough and brought into their pack where he has received a lot of help and guidance.

It's been hard keeping this secret from his family, and now that Falcon is home from his latest tour he can't help but wonder if his best friend will notice the difference in him. They've never had secrets before.

Lady Tremaine grew up with very little in life. She knows what it's like to be hungry, to want for things that seemed impossible. That was until she met a handsome man, mourning the loss of his passing wife. Turns out that man was quite wealthy and held an influential role in the Kingdom, something along the lines of a high born lord. One little problem, he had a rat of a daughter that always seemed to be beneath her feet! Well, one thing lead to another and before Lady Tremaine knew it, she was a noblewoman with riches coating her form and new home, her daughters never had to know for want...

Tragedy befell the family when out of nowhere her husband fell ill and he passed, it was so odd... one day he was healthy and the several next not. How very odd... and how wonderful that the Tremaine family now has wealth... and that spoiled brat now serves them. Lady Tremaine is trying to thrust one of her girls on the Prince, if both are at court, they stand a good chance.

Now there is extra reason for her also doing this. It seemed that Lady Tremaine didn’t cover all her bases when it came to her deceased husband. Yes, she got to keep everything, but only until his little rat of a daughter turned twenty-five then everything is restored to the girl. If she can get one of her daughters married to the Prince, she just might be able to overturn the will. If all else fails, the girl could always be reported missing one day.

She had a father who loved her, after all and from a young age had riches while Tremaine had nothing. She grows more spiteful by the day and if some tragedy befell Cinder...well, she wouldn't at all be surprised or upset.

She delights in the court affairs, vying for the prince's attention every chance she can get, she one day wants to sit on the throne, to be adorned in jewels, to have riches! Wouldn't that be something?

Ever since the queen Aurora there has always been a set of three fairies looking after the royal family. It was their job to see to it that the heir to the throne didn't get into too much trouble, magically speaking. But just because there fairies in charge of looking after the heir to the throne, didn't mean that they had to be particularly good fairies.

Such is the case of the current fairies who are looking after Prince Eadoin. The three who were chosen to be Eadoin's guardians were chosen as such because they essentially flunked out of their magical training. Not really because they're bad at magic, necessarily, but because they spend all their time drinking, partying, and screwing around.

Fauna is the youngest of the group, and he's kind of the quiet one of the group. He really just looks up to Flora and Merryweather all starry eyed, and follows them around like a puppy. He's just lucky the pair has deemed him attractive enough to include in their games. You see the little group of partying fairies have always had a rather intimate relationship. The polyamorous kind that they sometimes invite others into, provided they're pretty enough

Flotsam and Jetsam have been with Ursula for a while now. They came to her as mere children. Dirty little things that she scooped up off the street out of the kindness of her heart, or so she says. And since then they've been doing her bidding. Keeping her stores of collectibles in order. Bringing in fresh blood who wants help. And even helping to manage the club. For her part Ursula pays them handsomely, and when they were younger she kept them fed, clothed, and housed. So they're intensely loyal to her but don't see her as a mother figure. More of as the boss, which is what they call her, "Boss".

My idea for their relationship is that these two are at her beck and call entirely. That means anything she wants of them from sex to convincing the pretty young girl who's been eying up the bartender to come in and visit with her to make a deal. And because the relationship has been going on so long, they think nothing of it. It seems normal to them.

Dyre has been around for a long time. Long enough to see the way that magic can tear up the lives of others. Long enough to read all of the lore. And thus he started the Archive about six hundred years ago, where he would collect magical items (and sometimes dead magical beings) and store them away where no one could use them to hurt other people.

Over the years it got harder and harder to do on his own, so he began recruiting others and training them. His first recruit, and now partner, was the fairy Eivor who joined him for her own reasons. These days he spends less time out in the field, and more time just setting up the portals for his team to get through, and cataloging the items they have in the ever expanding Archive.

Eivor was but a child when she lost her big brother to rogue magic. Her big brother who happened to be the only person in the world she had left. At that point their parents had left them to run off and do whatever it is they do, and her brother was raising them both. So she clung to him like she'd never cling to anyone ever again in her life. And then he got a hold of a cursed item, and was turned to stone. She's spent over a thousand years trying to bring him back to no avail.

Shortly there after she heard word on the wind of a magi named Dyre who was collecting magical items to keep out of the hands of those who they might endanger. And she decided she would join him. So she searched him out, and she's worked with him ever since. Eivor's specialization lies in turning the cursed items they find into something useful. Like a weapon or protecting, so that the curators can go on doing what they do. Eivor is perhaps the least serious out of all of them. She's a free spirit, and it shows.

No one is sure where Atlee came from, it's like she just blew in on the wind one day. Which Dyre says makes her dangerous, but Eivor trusts her, and Dyre trusts Eivor. So she stays. And her hunting ability has proved to be a real asset to the Archive, so no one can say anything.

Atlee likes to keep to herself. She's in the Archive to do a job, not to make friends. And she loves to read, she hasn't read as many books as Dyre, but she's read a great deal, and is a veritable expert when he's not around.

Chao then traveled the world and Fairly found love in Asia a beautiful Fairy and he was in love, he stayed with the beautiful girl for a couple of years before they broke it off and Fairly moved towards the USA. Here he settled down yet again, he didn’t see his warlock friends before some years later when he had just lost his boyfriend, Fairly talked Chao from taking his own life and since that day he has stayed close by just to make sure the boy wouldn’t do anything foolish. This is Angelo, a Magi from the kingdoms. Now seen by many as wise and controlled, he made a lot of mistakes in his youth and hurt a lot of people. While in his early twenties he was selfish and spiteful while learning his craft and did as he pleased. It was only once he had gotten a little older that he began to realize the destruction he had left behind him and Angelo decided to change his ways. To make up for the pain he had caused. So he began to travel the kingdoms, but no matter where it went it seemed that his past followed him, and so he made the move to the 10th kingdom and began to explore the world known as Earth.

This was how in 1834 he wound up in Costa Rica in time to spot the then nameless Ander Ruin stumbling out of the rain forest with only a tribal dialect on his tongue and basic knowledge of his own powers. It was the horns sprouting from his forehead that gave him away and Angelo saw his chance to begin making amends.

He took the young man in, calling him Santo despite his devilish appearance. He taught him Spanish, and human etiquette. Taught him how to glamour his horns so he could go out into public and how to practice proper magic. He taught him all that he could in the five years they spent together, helping the young man become ready to live in the world and take care of himself. And once his Santo had turned 30 he decided it was time to distance himself before he corrupted him with any of his old darkness. SO he wrote him a note, telling him to leave Costa Rica and spend his long life exploring the world and then left in the night so that his sweet friend wouldn’t try to stop him.

From there he moved on throughout the world, doing what he could to help others and make up for his wrongs. Eventually he made it back to the other kingdoms, finding it a little easier to live with the horrors of his past faded into history.

Anyone who came into his life wound up just as bruised and broken as he had once been.

In 1965 he met Ander Ruin in a night club in Madrid. The two of them spent the evening wrapped up in each other and sensing the already vulnerable nature of the other man, Enrique quickly ensnared him and kept him at his side night and day. In many ways their relationship became much like his sire’s and his own had been. He controlled every aspect of what Ander was allowed to do, what he wore, what he did, who he spent time with and he made it so that the other man’s very happiness hinged on himself being happy and pleased. There was something about being so in control that filled the dark place inside of him.

Except that he lost his control and one day Ander disappeared. The faint scent of a woman lingered in their apartment and he knew that someone else had come along and snatched away his little plaything. It infuriated him, and he vowed if he ever found either of them, he would take Ander back and make his little friend pay.

Kolten is a byblow by the late Sir Gregor von Brandt, the man that Niklaus murdered several years back. Kolten, like his half siblings had never known their father and his mother had never spoken of him. She refused to, said he was a terrible man and for a while Kolten would press for more details, because it was natural and when his mother became distressed he realized it simply wasn't worth it, so he made up a heroic figure in his head as a boy and went with that.

Eventually, he decided to enlist in the service, to be like the heroic figure he painted in his head. What he didn't know was that he had another family out there somewhere and all Kolten had of his fabled father was a last name.. von Brandt.

I reaaaaally want Nik & Kolt to have a run in with each other, Nik's soft spot is his family... he'd feel inclined to offer protection to his half brother and his mother... that is once he gets over the fact his father [in spite of being mate to Nik's deceased mother,] had impregnated another female roughly around the same time Liesel was conceived.

His name is up to you, but for the sake of the want ad we will go with the idea his name is Ralph.

Ralph is fairly new to the organization as well as the area, originally from Agrabah, something about him intrigued Nik which is fairly hard to do. They've gotten into their fair share of brawls, but they always kind of chuckle it off after. Ralph is the one that is sent in for roughing up, absolute brutalization that doesn't always end in death but you definitely wish it did. He's a powerhouse and one you don't exactly expect to be. He's also the voice of reason if Nik doesn't override him.

His name is up to you, but for the sake of the want ad we will go with the idea his name is Piggy.

HOOOO.. Don't let miss Piggy's looks fool you she is one dangerous chick. She's a man-eater and a master manipulator from the kingdom of Talia. Nik had a run in with her after one of his jobs, she was covered in blood like she had used it as body paint. Apparently her husband at the time was highly abusive and she had enough, so she vented her frustrations on him and put him to rest.

Piggy has killer instinct, she doesn't put up with crap and Nik is genuinely amused by her, it's also why he pulled her into the organization. She is the one that goes into society to infiltrate and pull information. She's a spy first and assassin second.. She and Nik make a fabulous team. They've yet to mix business with pleasure and I'm not sure if either will cross that line but it'd be an interesting thing if they did.

28 | Captain | 6th Kingdom

Zoe Saldana
Raised by the demon who sired her and her half-sister Nebula with the intention of using them both as weapons, Gamora was taught from a young age to use her inherent magic to enhance her speed, strength, agility, and reflexes during combat as well as to speed her body's natural healing processes. She knew no other life, and absorbed the lessons she was taught, going above and beyond her father's expectations of her. She didn't hesitate in anything, whether it was a mission her father sent her on or merely 'training' combat between her and her sister. Gamora was a seemingly unstoppable force for evil.

However, she wasn't the loyal daughter she pretended to be. Her apparent enthusiasm for the life she was raised in was nothing more than a smokescreen. In truth, nothing about it ever sat right with her. She waited patiently, pretending perfectly to be completely loyal to her father while she was simply biding her time and waiting for an opportunity to escape his clutches. Her original intention was to take Nebula with her, but due to the mistrust and competition their father fostered and encouraged between them, she didn't know what her sister's true nature was. So when an opportunity for her own escape arrived in the form of Captain Thorne, Gamora took it and ran. She became his second in command soon after joining his crew, and has been keeping the ship and the rest of the crew going since his imprisonment in the tower. Aside from Groot, she's probably the most sane of the entire crew... including Thorne himself.

Raised by the demon who sired her and her half-sister Gamora with the intention of using them both as weapons, Nebula was taught from a young age to use her inherent magic to enhance her speed, strength, agility, and reflexes during combat as well as to speed her body's natural healing processes. Unlike Gamora, while she tried her best, Nebula never quite measured up to their father's exacting standards. Each time she would lose one of their sparring matches... and she lost every time... he would remove one of her body parts and replace it with one created by magic, supposedly to make her stronger. Nebula's resentment and jealousy grew over the years. All she'd wanted was a sister, but their father did his utmost to ensure they would never have anything close to a real sisterly relationship.

When Gamora's 'treason' became known, Nebula was secretly envious. But she was also glad for it, telling herself it was only because it lifted her own standing in their father's eyes if only by default. She also felt betrayed by what she saw as abandonment on her sister's part. For years, Gamora had eluded his efforts to find her. Recently, he came by information regarding her whereabouts and dispatched Nebula to either bring her back into the fold or kill her. Only, Nebula has no intention of doing the former. Neither does she intend to do the latter if she can avoid it. While she is pretending to be the obedient daughter her sister once was, Nebula is taking this mission as her own opportunity to escape. And to find allies for her plan to wipe her father from existence, both on the material plan and otherwise. Her first choice is Gamora and by extension the rest of the crew she works with. Only time will tell if such an alliance can be forged. Only time will tell if the two of them can learn to really trust each other, and be sisters of the heart rather than merely by blood.

Mantis is the newest member of the crew. She was rescued by Thorne and the crew as a side-job of sorts in the course of an entirely different job. She was raised in seclusion, kept as a pet by a trader in oddities for his own personal use. The man had originally intended to sell her for a large profit, until he discovered her empathic talents. When she touches someone skin to skin, she can feel their emotions, and can help ease their mental suffering. She can also put them to sleep for a time.

Because of the fact that she was raised in near-total seclusion, Mantis is almost childlike. While she learns quickly, she is naive to the point of seeming like a halfwit much of the time. Despite her captivity, she never developed the hard shell that the so many others have. Everything seems to just roll off her without touching her, including insults. She is prone to blurting out any thought that crosses her mind, including the emotions she feels from others when she touches them, not thinking about whether someone wants those emotions known to everyone around them or not. While it nearly always results in embarrassment and discomfort for those she 'reads' in front of others, she doesn't mean for that to happen. Mantis doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She just doesn't have a brain-to-mouth filter, and doesn't think about how it might effect others before she speaks. She's genuinely sorry for it when it happens, but she can't seem to stop it from happening entirely. She has much to learn about the world and interacting with others, and the protection of Thorne's crew gives her the chance to learn and to experience things in... relative... safety.

story: Guardians of the Galaxy

Bradley Cooper
The majority of Rocket's childhood and adolescence were filled with torturous magical experiments conducted by people who wanted to 'copy' his shifter abilities onto others. His freedom eventually came in the form of being left for dead. He was found and nursed back to health by an old healer. While his body healed, his mind was scarred. The experiments messed with his control over his shapeshifting ability. Sometimes he shifts involuntarily between his human shape and his raccoon shape. Other times, he gets 'stuck' in one shape or another and can't shift at all. It's embarrassing for him, but he pretends it's only annoying. Trust doesn't come easy for him, and he never really learned to handle emotions. Anger, sarcasm, and bitterness are what he knows best... and what she shows most often. The depression and self-esteem issues he battles are kept hidden and only come to the fore when he's particularly drunk. He struck out on his own after the healer died, learning by trial and error how to make his own way in the world. He developed a penchant for explosives and engineering, and personally designed the weapons he carries. He's prone to leaving the parts for his 'toys' laying around, and doesn't like to pick up after himself. He has to be constantly reminded to put things away when he's done with them.

While he did come to trust Thorne and the rest of the crew, he still doesn't really open up to them on an emotional level. He's an asshole most of the time, often saying things just to get a rise out of his crewmates but sometimes telling them things they need to hear... though not with any degree of tact whatsoever. Self-serving above nearly everything else, he's the one that grumbles and complains the most when it comes to doing the right thing when it's at risk to himself. In the end, he always goes along with it, and he has his crew's backs when it counts. Secretly, his complaints and grumblings are mostly just a matter of routine for him rather than anything he really believes. When Groot left to go in search of their missing captain, he was the one most vocally against it... though he knows maybe better than the rest that Groot has the best chance of finding the idiot.

story: Guardians of the Galaxy

Dave Bautista
Originally from the kingdom of Lux (the 7th kingdom), Drax had a fairly normal life to start out with. When his wife and daughter were murdered in front of him and he was taken captive by the owner of an illegal fighting arena, his life became solely about living long enough to exact revenge. Kept as a slave for over a century, when a full-scale riot erupted among the arena slaves, he was able to use the chaos to kill those responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter and for his enslavement along with as many of their guards as he could before he made his escape.

With nothing better to do, Drax turned pirate and fell in with Thorne and his crew. He spent so long as a captive that he lost the ability to really relate to others, and together with Rocket is one of the two least sane members of the crew. He became extremely literal minded, not understanding things like metaphors and sarcasm. In the arena, he trained himself not to feel anything except the anger at the murder of his family and the needs for survival and revenge. He taught himself to take pleasure in killing and destroying, and the pain and discomfort of others. While he hasn't yet remembered how to actually handle the emotions, he's slowly learning to feel other things again. Things he never thought he would be able to feel again... particularly when it comes to Mantis.
