The Naked Truth

He could draw on Earth's ability to heal and regenerate plants, to thrive in harsh conditions, and that was one of the reasons he was being hunted. That and the ancient sword or two he had stolen from Anghus. Dick deserved it.

1st Kingdom

The first kingdom was one of the first to be formed. The first family that lived in the castle was a king, and his son. They were good rulers, but because of being one of the first to be created, there were no princesses for the king to marry his son to. So the king had that fateful ball, and Cinderella showed up in her beautiful ballgown. And the rest is history, as they say.

The first kingdom is one of the port kingdoms. It's located at the edge of the land, right on the water. The land boasts beautiful sloping hills, and colorful water cities that have been ruled by Cinderella's children ever since. As one of the oldest kingdoms it is one of the most wealthy. They throw many grand balls, and seem to have almost everything in abundance. Their people do not go hungry, and their rich thrive.

2nd Kingdom

"The Land of Wolves" is the perfect place for a wolf/human hybrid to live. The 2nd kingdom is mostly covered in dense patches of towering trees, making it a great place for a run... Or to hide if you are in need of disappearing. It is controlled by the descendants of Little Red, her linage having mixed with that of her mortal enemy during her reign. The Ulric's are a family at odds with one another... The second child, the only son, unseating his sister as heir has caused quite a stir within their walls. Even sending the older sister to rebel against her brother and his obvious dislike of their kind as he blatantly disregarding their plight. This has made matters very tense for the House of Ulric... Who knows who will come out the victor?

The 2nd kingdom also is home to a group of killers and spies known as The Huntsmen. They are lead by Ilona and Lars Stark, a brother-sister duo that is easy on the eyes but dangerous when not watched closely. The group they have assembled are all alike in skill level as well as personality. They all have specialties that set them apart from one another, helping to further their growing business. Because to the Stark siblings murder and secrets are just business, no reason to be sour faced over a little thing like death. The group is well known for getting the job done, no matter the target and for their ability to laugh while doing it. Just be sure to follow the rules...

The 2nd kingdom is a bit wild to say the least, with murderous Huntsmen and howling wolves creeping along in the woods. Be careful not to stray from the path... You never know who or what might be waiting in those trees.

The king Cresswell's sister was set on the throne, and she began to work her magic to put the land to rights.

Years later the kingdom is prospering. The beanstalk forest has been wrangled, and the land has begun to bare food. It is now a prospering port kingdom. With the new queen came her fairies, and their magic healed the land. Now the queen's son rules, Prince Eadoin, and he and his fairies have kept up the work his mother put into place. Continuing to make the land prosper with the help of his uncle and cousin from the sixth kingdom.

4th Kingdom

The 4th kingdom is nestled in the heart of all the 9 surrounding kingdoms. The lands are sprinkled with charming villages and picturesque scenery with green rolling hills and deliciously fat, fluffy sheep to complete the picture of pastoral perfection. It also contains the Snow White Memorial Prison that once housed the notorious Queen Christine, a vile woman who almost got away with eradicating the entire royal blood line! Besides the occasional poisoning, it is a relatively peaceful place. The lands are filled with good, honest people who just want to live their lives as they see fit.

The House of White has ruled the 4th kingdom since the times of the five great queens over 200 years ago. She is still remembered of fondly among most of the citizens within her lands, some magi and fae folk having actually known her. The last person to wear the crown had been King Wendall White, the grandson of Snow White. Sadly, the king has passed away leaving the responsibilities to fall on his daughters young shoulders. People openly speak of the resemblance of Princess Amabel and her late great grandmother, making the fact she is illegitimate a minor detail. However, since the King's death a ripple has spread through out the country, "Can Princess Amabel, with skin as pale as Snow White's, handle being queen? She seems so... unprepared."

With her coronation to be held within the next year, Princess White must not only the needs of her people but seven suitors chosen by her father prior to his death. The late king sent out seven invitations to men from all walks of life, but they all have a common goal... Woo and wed the princess. However, the princess has taken it upon herself to steer these men toward women who would be better suited to them. What better way to free herself than have them marry another?

5th Kingdom

The naked emperor was actually the naked sultan, and he is the one who originally formed the fifth kingdom. His son had a daughter, and that daughter fell in love with a thief who had the help of a Jinn. During the time of these royals the kingdom was in a boom. There was excess all over the place, and everyone grew very fat.

But years later the descendants of Aladdin and Jasmine have fallen into the same trap as that sultan did with his advisor. The prince allows his advisor to tell him exactly what to do, and he does it. The prince Ababwa does not visit his people, or see the poverty his increasing taxes cause. But every day people in the fifth kingdom die of starvation. Every day children go to bed hungry. All because the prince listens to advisor.

The fifth kingdom is very large, and is probably one of the most diverse. It has mountains, and desserts, and beautiful ocean cities. All of them in disarray due to the advisor's greed.

The Isles of Maile There are nine islands altogether, but the Isles of Maile are something that time hasn't seemed to touch at all. While the rest of the kingdoms have seemed to have advanced these islands and the indigenous people, the Maileans, have remained untouched. They reside off the coast of Stenfisk, even further out than Neverland. Most of the islands are lush, but there are some that have a blight upon them and have withered away to ash. The Maileans are a peaceful people, who enjoy family above all else, friendship and living life to its fullest, amongst their kind they have gifted individuals, too.

It is the people's belief that they are not to travel beyond the reef due to an event that occurred nearly a thousand years ago. A demi-god had stolen the heart of one of the deities that lived amongst the isles and he was struck down from the sky, plunged to an isle where he remained a prisoner. A curse soon enveloped the islands, a slow one that would eventually cause all of the islands to die off. And the sea was touched, too, it became angry and would not allow passage beyond the mouth, many deaths occurred until the present Chieftain declared it law to never go past the reef. Someday soon they will need to reconsider this, but for now the island remains fairly peaceful.

6th Kingdom

The sixth kingdom was formed and ruled by the Lady Rapunzel generations ago. She gave birth to a daughter, who wound up being Sleeping Beauty due to some unforeseen circumstances with an angry fairy. Generations later every child born to the family is gifted with guardian fairies. Even King Cresswell, except his daughter Princess Periwinkle. No one knows why, but there are rumors abound. The truth is that the king fell in love with one of his guardians, and she is Periwinkle's mother, making the little girl a halfling. But they keep that under wraps.

King Cresswell had a younger sister, who went to rule the third kingdom when the trolls were sent into exile. Since then the relations between the sixth and third kingdom have been wonderful. The sixth kingdom has seen to it that the third thrives.

The sixth kingdom is yet another port town. With beautiful glens, and wonderful ocean cities.

The princess of the fae fell in love with a farmer in the land that is now the seventh kingdom many years ago. She can many others came down to the land to be amongst the people. She and that farmer were the first rulers of the seventh kingdom. Haskalah granted the farmer a longer life so that he could be with his moon princess.

They ruled for many years together. Building a beautiful kingdom for their people. The land is surrounded by the fourth, fifth, and eighth kingdoms, and is entirely landlocked except for one small port city. There are several large and beautiful lakes in the kingdom. 8th Kingdom

The eighth kingdom was formed by the original ice queen herself. She created a land of cold, and snow, and mountains. And thrived there, and didn't think that she needed anyone. But over the years she began to feel lonely, and so she adopted two little girls. These two little girls grew into kind, and gentle queens. But it seemed that cruelty skipped a generation. For their children, a boy and a girl, were something different entirely. The girl developed the ice queen's powers, and the boy became known as the beast.

For many years these two children kept the land in a perpetual state of fear and winter. But as with their grandmother they both grew lonely. The girl died in her loneliness, but the boy found a girl named Belle who loved him dearly, and was able to lift his curse. The pair went on to turn the kingdom into a prosperous kingdom. While the winters may still have been long, they became known for their cold water fish, and their beautiful furs.

Years later their descendants rule the eighth kingdom. The king has had three daughters. The eldest has developed the ancestors' abilities, and thus plunged the kingdom into another long winter. The middle and youngest have no special powers at all except for their ability to love.

9th Kingdom

The ninth kingdom was created long ago by fisherman. It is the only kingdom in the nine kingdoms that runs completely along the coast. Making it the perfect kingdom for fisherman, and traders. Which is it's primary income. That fisherman was eventually named king in some fashion.

His son fell in love with a mermaid. That mermaid turned into a human to be with him, and they lived happily ever after. Years later the fisherman's descendants rule the land. There aren't many farms, their primary crop is fish. They trade with other kingdoms for grain, and corn.

Their other claim to fame is that off the coast of the kingdom there is a small island known as Neverland. It was this kingdom's idea to begin to send criminals off to the island, and they take criminals from all over the kingdoms to send there.

10th Kingdom

The tenth kingdom is quite simply, our realm. It is the realm where fairytales, and magic aren't considered real.

All of the portals and mirrors seem to come out in New York City. Because of this the city has a high magical population, even if their human population don't seem to realize it. Because of this, New York City is where the Shadowhunte institute is. The shadowhunters keep the magical of the city in check as best they can, and protect the mortals from them.

Neverland

Neverland was once an island that was claimed solely by the 9th Kingdom, it served for nothing more than bragging rights that the previous Kings could boast of how their land mass was something greater, broader. Until the merfolk began to lash out, stating it was in their land - just another part of the ocean and that it belonged to them. There wasn't a war but there was a feud as to who lay claim to it, and because humans never seem to listen to the warnings when it comes to magic a curse was placed on the island.

The curse which was placed on the island went as such: those who stepped onto the land were brought back to a youthful age, so long as they remained upon the land. Simple enough to escape, right? No, the magic was advanced and with each soul that stepped onto the land they were bound by a time that was deciphered not by a man, but the island itself. You see, the island is just as much alive as the creatures in the sea, the birds of the air and the folk that walk the lands.

This new knowledge was passed to the king, he had lost one of his best explorers and it was then he called for a council meeting with the kingdoms, and even stretched through the portals to discuss with the others. They then decided that the Island would be a prison of sorts for the worst offending individuals. The island would keep them bound by magic, the merfolk would see that they didn't escape and the problematic individuals would be harnessed for an indefinite time period.

That is exactly what Neverland serves as today, a prison of sorts and the merfolk happen to be the wardens. A man or rather now a boy named Pan calls himself the leader of the lost boys which are the lost ones that are serving out their sentence on the island with him.

Wonderland

Wonderland is a dark, mysterious realm where creatures from nightmares lurk on the daily. There was a time when madness ran more rampant than others, especially during the reign of Scarlet, the Mad Queen. She was the one who ordered the heads off of individuals for small transgression such as touching her beloved red roses. She is the one who Alice Liddell met in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland tale. What if it wasn't just a story, but a clever way to depict reality in a fashion that would garner the author fame? Some stories are spun so wickedly that they are nearly unrecognized by others as truth. Since the days of that tale Wonderland has suffered greatly, there are things that Alice set in place that altered Wonderland for good. The Cheshire Cat lost his head while he was protecting his beloved Hatter, Alice cried a sea of tears and it was up to her to fix it when she returned as a young adult. There is unrest in the kingdoms, the daughter of Queen Alice and the Mad Hatter holds the Red throne, while Ivory has maintained her hold on White, but it isn’t the kingdoms that are quarreling, it’s the rebellion known as the Freerollers who threaten the lives of the half-netherlings and the humans that seek to live in Wonderland. There are whispers and scripts of old that say a union would bring this all to an end, but none are clear as to what that is, none would ever think that it meant a union of the people, of all origins.

Shadowhunters

Back when the world was young Tzedek the Fifth saw that it was necessary for there to be someone to guard over the dimensions, to ensure that balance was kept between good and evil and to protect those who could not protect themselves. First he made the Adonai, a race of immortals, much like demi-gods: the ability of flight, to control the elements, and immunity to harm. But it soon became apparent that once the Adonai paired off together that there was a slight flaw. They would begin to lose their powers and immortality so that they could lead out normal lives together and die old. But this did not do to protect the world.

So Tzedek then created the Nephilim. They were blessed with strength, speed and agility but still being human they did not lose their abilities once they paired off. To aid in their duties he gave them the ability to write heavenly runes upon themselves to increase their strength, stealth, healing, etc. They call themselves the Shadowhunters and they lived a secluded life, far apart from the human world. They don’t keep up on popular culture or what the world is wrapped up in day to day. Their lives are centred around training, hunting and battle. They watch over the Downworlders (anything supernatural) and make sure that they are keeping to the laws. They also hunt down demons that have been summoned forth by Magi or stupid human beings in way over their heads, and kill them. They begin training from a young age and are usually out in the field by age fifteen or sixteen, always with a much more experienced hunter, but learning the ropes. They are the last line of defence between the human world, and the evil which would destroy it.

The Archive

Six hundred years ago a magi named Dyre decided that some magical items were too dangerous to fall into he wrong hands. He had watched for centuries as magic wreaked havoc on his world and thus he began to collect these items, but he needed a place to store them away from the hands of the public.

And thus the Archive was built. A building that would one day house the most dangerous objects in all the kingdoms until it's Curator can think of a way to destroy them. To the Curator's the Archive is a beautiful building out in the middle of no where Arendelle, but to those who are not meant to go there it is nothing but a run down building.

Over the years Dyre came to realize that magical beings themselves could be used as objects of power, and thus the Archive had a new wing added for the dead bodies of magic beings where they could decompose in peace without having to fear being chopped up for parts. But there are many wings to the Archive. There is one for cursed objects, one specifically for magic mirrors, one for magical talismans, and there is even a vast library full of books about the lore of the kingdoms.

Dyre has not just acquired a number of magical objects over the years, but also a crew of people to help him hunt down objects. These people are known as Curators, and they live a dangerous life. Hopping through portals into this kingdom or the next to collect things that many in the kingdoms would gladly kill for. As it is so dangerous, Dyre only takes those that are completely dedicated to the cause, and each of his Curators is armed to the teeth with magical items turned to their benefit by Dyre's partner Eivor.

And hey, picking up dead bodies and cursed objects is a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it.

The Zingaro

The Zingaro are distant relatives of the people of Lux. When the people of the moon came down to Earth to live amongst the humans in the kingdoms there was a branch of them that decided they did not want to live inside the walls of Lux and so they wandered. As they wandered they met humans whom they came to love just as their princess had. Thus the blood line of the Zingaro (which literally means wanderer) became watered down and though they retain some magic it is not enough to be truly powerful as their cousins from Lux..

The Zingaro people travel in a caravan system through the kingdoms, keeping mostly to themselves. They only have contact with the people of the kingdoms when they set up their tents to perform or they need to trade. The common people, and even some of the nobles, of the kingdoms, look forward to seeing the Zingaro tents go up for they bring with them amazing acrobatic stunts, but the Zingaro are also feared by those same people. As there is great superstition attached to their people. Many say that they curse people for even the smallest slight.

The Zingaro have their own government and belief system. They have a council of five elders who come from what is thought to be the original five families. These elders decide everything inside the caravan. What to trade for. What city they will travel to next. Even if someone is allowed to marry or not. They may not be highly superstitious but they are a spiritual people. They believe that Haskalah and the other gods created spirits among them that live in nature around them like the animals, earth, and trees. These spirits must be respected and nothing can be taken from the earth that is not adequately used and paid homage to.

There is also a legend of a moon spirit who fell in love with the spirit of the wolves. It is believed that they were once Zingaro and were gifted immortal life by Haskalah for serving her so well. When they are not in their human forms they are the moon, and the wolf, and this is why the wolf howls to the moon every night for he misses her. It is also believed that the wolf is the protector of the moon. But that's all just a story, isn't it?
